A while ago, I had this pleasure shooting this young family of four at beautiful Maroubra Beach. Honestly may I say that this family is natural at lifestyle session! The father’s directing/ distracting skills were spot on, mother’s very warm and gentile with the boys. We had lots of fun running on the beach, tinkling, giggling, getting sandy, salty and cheeky.

I have to admit, shooting kids has more variations and challenges since they don’t really know who we are. And you can’t say “cut!” during the shoot because there’s just no restart button for them. I guess that’s what’s fun of shooting portraits with children, we get to forget how awkward in our life as an adult and to be simply silly and goofy. I used to work with children a long time ago, and I constantly recalled those days in my life were somewhat special. Now that I have one of my very own, I can absolutely understand the reason behind. They are not like Tinkle Bell, they grow up so darling fast, and all we could do is hold those moments really tight.

Now Indigo’s 10 months old, wish that we have some family portraits sometime soon.
