Hello lovlies,
Finally I can share with you all these images that I shot some time ago. It’s one of my favourite shoots and has felt like holding breathe underwater for so long!
I believe that love has all sorts of forms and shouldn’t be just celebrated in cliche ways. Sometimes, we just want to celebrate how free and weird we are, right? Having that in mind, I wish to create a raw and rugged elopement with some whimsical and industrial touch.
The artistic direction of the whole shoot was inspired by the films” Fur” and “Fantastic Mr. Fox”, capturing their quirky, bold and definitely wild facets. (And if you knew me in person, I have a thing with foxes, children’s books, and illustrations.)
Feathers, unique animal headdresses, warm furs, rustic old mine museum and ruins, dreamy gown with petals all over, vibrant and earthy floral styling, together were indispensable elements to make this wild dream come true.
This faux elopement started from couple getting ready in the State Mine Museum. They then move onto the furnace ruins to exchange their vows in front of this rustic arbour. Shortly after the ceremony, our couple put on the animal headdress to celebrate their special day in front of this iconic rock.
There were several unique elements such as Fox and Owl headpieces, hand drawn place cards written with “Hubby” and “Wifey”, old door transformed table (by talented Clare from INDIE FLOWERS), and the beautifully illustrated stationeries. The pedal details on the gown looked like feather from afar, perfectly matched with the fur and feather themed styling. The combination of the earthy floral styling with this industrial venue has added a more rustic mood to the whole shoot, it was like a winter wedding/elopement dream come true in my heart!
Stay wilderly,
Aka Innes
