Hello lovelies,
Today I am going to share with you a tear-jerking wedding that I shot a while back in beautiful country side, Oberon, NSW.
Hayley is crazy warm and loves to laugh, her laughs are so contagious that any one would become her friends straight away. I was so lucky and honoured to be there to witness these two love birds tying the knot on Hayley’s parent’s property. Hayley sadly lost her mom last year and that’s why you won’t see couple portraits at Waldara Farm as she wishes to capture all these sentiments where the memories of her mom lies around.
So here’s the tear jerker: Hayley’s Father and Daughter dance. Her dad weaved her mom’s recording voices from voice mail with the song Fathers and Daughters together and gosh it’s so so hard to keep my eyes dry. I think I might teared a little and it certainly brought the tears to many daughters that night. I asked Hayley before if I could have that recording to share with you but now I have decided not to. It’s just a bit much, and I don’t want to make anyone cry either. I am serious.
The other thing I really like about shooting weddings is I get to be invited to real people’s home (not like a Airbnb way) and see those living traces and memories. I can see how they grew up in their parents home, their hobbies and interests, and even their future nest as newly weds.
All these small details are telling their stories every where and I just love it. It feels like taking a time machine and I suddenly went back in time and saw something happened in the past.
Okay, maybe a bit too far, but I am just saying that I love love love these nostalgic elements. So if you have something special that really wish to be documented, bring it out, let me know, and we will sure these little elements will be a part of your special day.
Stay nostalgic,
Aka xxx
p.s. I should really blogged more, but now having two time-sucks a.k.a young children really fills up my time easily. And I still spend tons of time on editing all the images on my own, checking all the minor details and so on. We will get there eventually. hahahah!
